for those who don't know you, introduce yourself and your sound.
Hi, I am andrews’. I am an indie-pop artist based in Nashville, TN. I was born in Florida and have been playing music basically my whole life. I think the cool part about the music is that there’s such a wide array of genres and there’s room for the songs to be really contextual for where you are at. I wanna make everything from puts you to sleep, to cry, and dance (maybe all the same time?????)
talk a little about your new single. inspirations, influences, what it means to you?
The song came from a place of realization that constantly wanting to escape whatever situation that I might be in probably isn’t the best idea and to learn how to really accept/grow in your surroundings for whatever they might be at that time.
what is your creative process?
I normally sit down at a weird old synth and write really whatever feels relevant to me at the time. Then I normally sit down with a producer to finish it from there. I am super thankful for all the creative people that I am surrounded by such as producers, writers, musicians, and artists. I couldn’t do this without the support of those people.
what made you want to get into music?
Anything to quit baseball really haha. I played piano as a kid and so I just picked it back up and went for it. Nothing that special at the time, just your everyday Troy Bolton lol. Now I love everything about it and am so grateful to be doing it.
what can we look forward to from you?
Super excited for touring and the upcoming 2 EP’s coming out next year. I am very thankful for everyone supporting me at these beginning stages and excited to see where we’re at this time next year.
you are based in nashville. what is your favorite part of tennessee?
Honestly I haven’t explored as much as I would like too. I have been to basically all the major cities in TN; Nashville the most though Knoxville is a close second. I wanna see the mountains outside the city a bit more and I have had this weird idea to camp/walk around the greenway of Nashville. TBH I don’t even know if there is a greenway I might be making that up in my head but it sounds great.
do you have any favorite artists that stem from nashville that have influenced you?
Just found Erin Rae, and that’s been changing my life lately. The LANY boys, Paramore, and honestly I am super grateful to be working with some incredible artists around Nashville as a musician. It is a blast to be on that side as well.
any chances to see you on the road soon?
Yes! I love playing shows more than anything and we’re hoping to do at least 20-30 major US cities and a summer Europe Tour as well!
one album in history that you wish you had been a part of?
Mylo Xyloto by Coldplay…. Hands down.
