This Florida based trio describes their music as “Suburban Funk” because of their unique blend of many different genres. Frontman Treis Heitsch is the lead vocalist, while also playing piano, guitar, and saxophone. Alex Canon on bass, and Michael Stickler on drums rounds out Treis and Friends.
For some jazzy, mellow vibes this December give a listen to my personal favorite track, Pleasure, off of the album Homesick, released earlier this year.
With Cory Bishop on vocals and Michael Bare on bass, this indie rock duo formed in 2015. In May if that year the two released their first single, “Born Without Borders”. Now, in 2018, the Nashville based band has released four more. On November 2nd they released their most recent track, a studio cover of “Friday I’m in Love.”
If you want to love The New Schematics as much as I do, I suggest beginning with their single “Small Talk.” This bubbly, upbeat song is a perfect representation of their music.
Phangs:
Phangs originated in Nashville, the creation of Jake Germany in late 2016. In 2 years he has gained a huge following, with over 46,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. His music is rooted in memories of early 90s pop, with a dose of modern flair. The lyrics are brutally honest, reminiscent of relationships past, present, and future. His passion for music shines in his live shows, where his ability to connect with fans showcases his unique artistry.
To get a feel for Phangs’ sound, check out his single “One and Lonely.” The 90s influence on this record is clear, but it maintains its modernity, making this song an instant favorite.
